Description:

Cacao Vanilla (Loose Leaf) is a blend of rich cacao shells and creamy vanilla essence. This is a low caffeine blend since chocolate and cacao alike contain very minor natural stimulants like theobromine.

Taste:

Davidson's Cacao Vanilla (Loose Leaf) offers a decadent chocolate flavor with a smooth, vanilla finish.

Origin:

Originally, cacao shells were viewed as a waste product while the cacao beans went on to be made into chocolate. Recently, cacao shells have been found to make a great cup of tea thanks to its delicious taste and presumed health benefits. Cacao shells are packed with antioxidants, amino acids, magnesium, iron, and zinc.
Ingredients:

Organic cacao shells, organic honeybush, organic carob, natural flavor, organic stevia, and organic calendula petals.

Brewing:

  1. Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil.
  2. Add 2 grams of tea to an infuser, or straight into an 8-oz. mug.
  3. Pour the heated water into the mug.
  4. Steep for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Strain tea leaves, or take out the infuser.
  6. Sip and enjoy Davidson’s organic tea.

I agree with Andra

When I opened the bag, the first thing I smelled was vanilla, so I expected it to be overpowering, but to my surprise, the vanilla was pleasantly mellow. It has a pleasant chocolatey taste, but the stevia overpowers it. At first, I liked it, but I became sick of the stevia flavor as I drank. I don't hate the blend; the vanilla works well with the cacao shells, but the stevia doesn't.

Waaayyyyy too much stevia
Andra (Longmont, Colorado) 4/7/2023 8:23 AM
I opened the package and white powder wafted out. I don’t know if it is powdered stevia, or powdered vanilla. It has an off tasting, fake sweetness to it. I tried diluting it and still couldn’t drink it. I then added ice hoping that maybe it would make good iced tea. Still couldn’t get past the fake sweet smell or taste. I am going to try to rinse the tea in cold water before brewing next time. The cacao bliss is soooooo much better.
