Davidson's organic black tea is sourced from family tea gardens in the Darjeeling and Assam regions of India. Additionally, our vibrant spices are sourced from Sri Lanka. During our most recent visit to Sri Lanka, we had the opportunity to meet our spice supplier. He's pictured here, presenting the spices used in our Classic Chai blend. |
Ingredients:
Organic black tea*, organic cinnamon, organic cloves, organic cardamom, organic orange peel and natural flavor. [* denotes Fair Trade Certified™]
Brewing:
- Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil.
- Add 2 grams of tea to a infuser, or straight into an 8-oz. mug.
- Pour the heated water into the mug.
- Steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Strain tea leaves, or take out the infuser.
- Sip and enjoy Davidson’s organic tea.

Until I stumbled on this chai, I was only an occasional chai drinker. Liked some of them, sort of, but not enough to go full time. (Others not at all. Very mixed bag.)
Quite a few years ago, after seeing the few bagged teas – of various types – keep going out of business or just downhill in quality, tried brewing loose leaf. Better, but still hunted around to find something great. (Spent a lot of time trying to find a great orange spice. BTW, best of those I found was Davidson’s Organic.)
Then found this. And I admit it – hooked. Daily, post-breakfast…at a minimum. A little milk and honey. Frequently get seconds. And I’m using a mug that holds 24 oz at a time.
Outstanding tea.

I have always been a big fan of chai, and this one is by far the best I’ve had! It has a subtle natural sweetness that isn’t overpowering. It doesn’t need even a drop of sweetener. It’s great as a latte, hot, iced, or sparkling! The spice balance is excellent, as it is full of flavor, without being overpowering. I drink this all autumn and winter long!
