Description:
Gyokuro (also called “jade dew”) is a prestigious and sought-after, shade-grown steamed green tea (cultivar name of Yabukita). As the young leaves of the spring season develop, the Gyokuro plants are shaded from the sun for several weeks. This matures the tea leaves to develop depth and flavor, as the sun-deprived leaves are higher in chlorophyll, hence giving their vivid green color. Gyokuro is also higher in amino acids, most notably L-theanine, which accounts for the perfectly smooth, rich and soft flavor. Enjoy our fine Gyokuro green tea, delivering a delicious rich umami and sweet aroma of freshly buttered greens and seaweed with no astringency.
Taste:
Gyokuro is refreshing green tea finely balanced with its deep umami, savory and sweet profile.
