Davidson’s Pu-erh Black is sourced from Cangyuan County in the Yunnan Province of China. Cangyuan County is located in a mountainous region, far from any major city. The subtropical highland climate is perfect for tea growth and fermentation. The local small farmers practice sustainable farming methods, and have generations of experience in the Pu-erh practice. During a recent visit to the tea farms, Davidson's co-owner, Kunall Patel, had the opportunity to meet a number of these small farmers, often stopping to take snapshots for memories. |
History:
Pu-erh teas are named after the city in which they originated: Pu'er City in the Yunnan Province of China. Davidson's Pu-erh Black is actually Shou Pu-erh, which differentiates itself from Sheng Pu-erh by its fermentation process. Shou translates to "cooking" in Chinese, and refers to the process of expediting fermentation with added heat and moisture. In this way, Shou Pu-erh is categorized as a black tea, whereas Sheng Pu-erh is a green because of its raw, uncooked nature. This is why we call it "Pu-erh Black." Ingredients:
Organic pu-erh tea.
Brewing:
- Bring fresh water to the boiling point.
- Add one tea bag to one 8oz cup of hot water.
- Allow the tea bag to steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Remove and strain the tea bag.
- Sip and enjoy Davidson’s organic tea.
