More Americans are moving towards a holistic and organic lifestyle, partly due to the complexities and expense of traditional medicine, and partly out of a desire to live a cleaner and more natural life. Whatever the motivation, Davidson’s Organics is here to support you with their new line of Ayurvedic-inspired tea.

Ayurveda, a 5,000-year-old Indian system of natural healing, literally translates to life (Ayur) and science (Veda) — a perfect partnership. When Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar and Dr. Manisha Kshirsagar, both accomplished Ayurvedic Physicians, located in Reno, Nevada, began collaborating with Davidson’s Organics in 2017, the goal was to design a line of Ayurveda-infused tea to help consumers achieve natural healing and overall wellness.

“Tea is one of the best ways to inspire people to participate in their own health and wellbeing,” said Dr. Suhas. “Preparing a warm cup of tea, and staying away from less healthy choices, gives them a clean, natural, and 100% organic option that contains powerful herbs and simply makes them feel good.”

Women’s health is a particular area of interest for Dr. Manisha, and she sees overburdened women on a regular basis who can benefit from a simple and more natural approach to wellness.

“They feel sad, stressed out, financially and socially burdened, and there is no time for them to take care of themselves in this hectic world,” she explained. “Then they accumulate impurities in their systems.”

These impurities, coupled with hormonal changes due to menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause, can be best treated by adopting an intentional routine of self-care, coupled with infusing their bodies with the natural herbs found in tea.

“Our functional teas are a step toward holistic, preventative health, and offer an alternative approach to common health issues,” said Kunall Patel, co-owner of Davidson’s Organics. “Through our partnership with Dr. Suhas, we’ve created seven distinctive blends that further our goal.”

Patel, along with business partner and wife Purnima Mohan, operate this organic, fair trade, and specialty tea company out of Sparks, Nevada.

As a third-generation tea grower, the business of tea is in Mohan’s blood. Her background, combined with her education in marketing and public relations, led to a perfect partnership with Dr. Suhas and Dr. Manisha.

Patel and Mohan used their experience to help develop the brand and market the concept, while Dr. Suhas and Dr. Manisha used their knowledge of Ayurveda to formulate the blends. This collaboration resulted in the development of their seven new teas: Sleep, Slim, Energize, Digest, Laxative, Detox, and De-Congest.

While they all have their specific merits and uses, Mohan is particularly fond of the Detox and Energize blends for women for their ability to purify, heal, and strengthen. She also echoes Dr. Manisha’s views on the importance of women taking time to address their body’s imbalances and impurities, despite their hectic schedules.

“Take time for yourself; self-care is important,” she said. “I make it a priority to meditate, drink my cup of tea in the morning before my children wake up, and to not rush myself through my tea,” she explains. “It helps me to set the tone for my day.”
