Description:

Russian Caravan (Loose Leaf) combines a malty Assam black tea, with robust Ceylon and mildly smoky Keemun black teas.

Taste:

Russian Caravan (Loose Leaf) has a delicate smoky flavor. A classic staple that delivers a well-rounded black tea brew with a subtle smoky finish. This tea remains as a great introduction in comparison to its smoky counterparts, Keemun Congou and Lapsang Souchong Black. Out of these three, Russian Caravan ranks the least smoky.

Origin:

A majority of Davidson's organic black tea is sourced from family tea gardens in the Darjeeling and Assam regions of India. As organic tea growers, we're dedicated to protecting the natural environment and wildlife around us. This photo features a sign amongst the Banaspaty Tea Garden stating, "LEND A HAND TO SAVE TREES." This is where we exclusively source our Assam black tea.

History:

Despite its name, Russian Caravan is not actually of Russian origin. In fact, the blend originated in China during the 18th century, when trade between the two countries opened up.
